Our Story

I started my CPA firm just over 25 years ago. Since that time, my firm has grown steadily, and I have added both partners and staff. I am grateful for the growth, but I am sure you can testify that growing an accounting firm creates a myriad of challenges. From my personal experience, doing the accounting work is not the hard part.  The hard part is running the business while trying to keep it from overwhelming us.

That’s what led me to design and create an in‐house time and billing software application several years ago. Over time, the software has become the hub around which the rest of the firm operates. The software has helped our firm in many ways. We stay on task via the prioritized task lists. We capture more of our time for billing purposes. Invoicing is greatly simplified. Tracking appreciation and discounts by staff member helps us evaluate overall performance much better than before.

We have prepared the software to become a cloud‐based solution to help other CPA firms. Since we figuratively walk in your shoes, we know what you and your firm are going through. And we believe FirmTamer can help you both take control of and better manage your firm to achieve better results both professionally and personally. In my experience, less time at the office means more time at home with my family doing what I want to do.

I truly believe that using FirmTamer will allow you to work smarter, not harder, by taming your firm.

Sincerely,

Jerry Walker CPA, founder of FirmTamer
